Two Hundred Black and white photographs from Fernwald and Hochland displaced persons camps in Germany, arranged in an album, most probably by emissaries from Eretz Israel. Fernwald and Hochland, 1945-1946.
The photographs present the daily life of Holocaust survivors in the displaced persons camps: the synagogue, "Tarbut" school which was active in the camp and a display of the children's works, theatre shows, parades, manifestations, ceremonies as well as personal and group photographs, Brigade and UNWRA soldiers, etc. Some of the album's leaves bear handwritten annotations. Size of photographs varies, 6X4.5 cm to 12X8.5 cm. Album 29.5 cm. Good condition.
