Two embroidered silk tallitot. [Italy, 19th century].
Silk; silk embroidery and silverwork.
1. Striped tallit in shades of pearl and blue; corners reinforced in silk with floral embroidery and silver initials "יא"ח" in the center.
Approx. 230X103 cm. Good condition. Minor defects. Stains.
2. Striped tallit in shades of pearl and light-blue; floral bouquets embroidered in the four corners. Center edge embroidered (in place of neckband) with the initials "ML" within a floral and foliate border.
Approx. 206X108 cm. Minor defects and tears. Minor stains. Tear to edge where neckband would have been (6 cm long), with obvious repair. Area of tear reinforced with fabric on reverse.
