Ornate trowel, with dedication in English (the date is engraved in Hebrew as well). Granted to H. [Harry] Graumann Esq. on behalf of the Randfontein Jewish community near Johannesburg, in honor of the cornerstone laying of the community's synagogue, on 31 August 1910. Harry Graumann served as Johannesburg's first Jewish mayor, in the years 1909-1910.
Length: 35.5 cm. Good condition.
