Rebbe Yitzchak Eizik Yehudah Yechiel Safrin, Av Beit Din of Zidichov and Komarno (1806-1874), kabbalist and leading transmitter of the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov. A nephew and close disciple of the Sar Beit HaZohar, Rebbe Tzvi Hirsh of Zidichov, he was cherished by foremost Chassidic leaders and authored many books on Chassidut and Kabbalah, which were prized by rebbes of all dynasties.


[2], 158 leaves [i.e. 157; misfoliation]. Leaf 54 appears twice, once with a misprinting (a page belonging later in the book) and once correctly. Leaves 71-72 bound out of sequence. Crooked trimming of margins of title page and several leaves. 35.5 cm. Most leaves in good-fair condition, first leaves in fair condition. Stains. Worming, affecting text (mostly first leaves). Creases to title page. Wear and tears to margins of several leaves. Stamps. New binding.
