Torah Shield. Vienna 1860-1869.
Silver (marked), Alt-Wien.
A crown and lions flanking the Tablets of the Law (no inscription). Compartment for plates. Baroque style ornamentations on the shield, topped with a flower, characteristic of the Austro-Hungarian style. Dots are hammered on the surface of the shield, in contrast with the plane Tablets of the Law.
Height: 30 cm, width: 25 cm. Good condition, original chain for hanging. Missing door and plates.
