Torah crown. Galicia / Poland, 19th century. Silver, filigree; gemstones, metal ornaments. Crown on which a smaller crown is positioned with an additional ornament, a wreath of leaves pointed upwards and topped by an eagle. Medallions on the lower part of the crown are decorated with foliage designs to which there have been added metal-ornaments in the form of deer and lions. The arms are set with blue and red gemstones. Leaves-like ornaments between the arms from which bells are hanging. A larger bell inside. The base of the small crown is decorated with metal ornaments as above in the form of eagles and set with gemstones. Amongst its arms are conic posts ending with bells. In its inner part is an additional bell. Height: 42.5 cm, base diameter: 21.5 cm, maximum diameter: 25 cm. Brass plaques were added (in the 20th cent.) to the inner part for solidity.
