Torah ark curtain (Parochet). [Italy, 19th century]. Parochet is made of several kinds of fabric sewn together, all with floral and vegetal patterns: golden background, light floral strips in the center and on the right and left edges, green and some dark fabric in the center. Tablets of the Law appear on the upper part, embroidered with the Ten Commandments. Loops for hanging. 205X130 cm (originally the Parochet was 265 cm long but was shortened – bottom part was folded and sewn). Overall good condition. Two dark stains (approx. 20X25 cm) on lower part, with damage to fabric.
