Printed letter by Lithuanian rabbis, regarding the ancient regulation to donate charity on Yom Kippur eve, on Hosha'ana Raba and Purim.
Amongst the signing rabbis: Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan, Hanatziv, Rabbi Mordechai Gimple, Rabbi Yisrael Meir Ha-Cohen author of Chafetz Chaim. Vilna rabbis: Rabbi Yossef [Sakovitch] and Rabbi Ya'akov [Barit – died 1883]. Rabbi Shmuel Luptzer, Rabbi Shlomo Ha-Cohen, Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky and others.
This document supports the author of "Chafetz Chaim"'s fame in the1880's, ten years after his book was published anonymously.
