The book Tanya Rabti was comprised as a Halachic composition which served as a supplement to the prayer book as customary in Italy. It consists of a brief adaptation of the book Shvilei HaLeket, with many additions. Printed anonymously, in various editions the book was ascribed to Rabbi Yechiel son of Rabbi Asher (HaRosh) or to Rabbi Yechiel son of Rabbi Tzidkia. Printed without title page, the book is named after its first words.
Colophon: “…Sefer HaTanya was completed in the month of Sivan, year five thousand [and two hundred] and seventy four to the creation…”.
“Collected” copy: The leaf indicating the contents of the book is bound (photocopied?) first, following it [4] leaves added from another copy, followed by the remaining [95] leaves of the book. A total of [100] leaves, 18.5 cm. General condition good. Replaced leaves in fair-poor condition. New ornamented leather binding.
