Talmud Yerushalmi, with the commentary of Rabbi Eliyahu of Fulda. Tractates Berachot, Peah, D'mai, Kilayim and Shevi'it. Amsterdam, 1710. Approbations of the Chacham Zvi Rabbi Naftali Katz of Frankfurt and others.
On title page, signatures and inscriptions in old Oriental handwriting: "This book belongs to Shlomo Burgil", "I merited serving G-d, I, S.N.A. in [-]"; another dedication praising Rabbi Natan Burgil, author of Chok Natan: "Rabbi Yehonatan is a dayan … and plunges the depth of the din … Torah Tana Holy Chassid … Natan Burgil". Another signature (cut-off) in ancient Ashkenasi handwriting.
Rabbi Natan Burgil (died 1792, Otzar HaRabbanim 16303), was a leading Tunis rabbi, immigrated to Jerusalem in his later years. He is renowned for his book Chok Natan on Seder Kodshim (Livorno, 1776). His sons and descendants served for generations as rabbis and community heads in Tunis. Apparently, the signatures and dedication are from his brother S.N.A. [Shlomo ben Avraham], since the father of Chok Natan was called Rabbi Avraham.
[2], 2-37; 2-22; 2-21; 2-25; 2-25 leaves (Tractates Terumot-Shekalim are missing). 30 cm. Fair condition, moth holes and slight wear. New fabric cover.
