Among the laws is an act that enables Jews to omit the oath of allegiance "by the true faith of the Christian" from the oath required at the swearing in ceremony for the parliament. One of the sections of this act determines that although Jews are permitted to serve in the parliament, they are not entitled to hold certain senior positions, such as judge or ruler.
