"Yom HaMedinah" [State Day], a joint (one-time) issue of all Hebrew newspapers, published on the day of the Israeli Declaration of Independence. [Tel-Aviv] the fifth of Iyar (May 14, 1948), "The last Day of a Foreign Rule".
The newspaper's headline: "The People Declare the State of Israel". The Declaration of Independence is printed on the first page, alongside photographs of Herzl, Weizmann, Ben-Gurion and others, and a group photograph of the members of the Provisional Government during their first session.
