Mariam Bartov (1914-2012), Israeli author of children's books, painter and illustrator, born in Hamburg. In 1949 she published her first book "Alikama HaKatan", which was very successful. Illustrated for newspapers - "Davar" and "Mishmar LeYeladim"; painted and won artistic acclaim. Her works were exhibited in many Israeli cities. In 1986 Bartov won the Ben-Yitzchak prize granted by the Israel Museum to an illustrator excelling in children's books.
