A Chandelier for a Synagogue. [Tunisia, beginning of 20th century].
Silver (unstamped). Cast, engraved and sawn. Silver dome (with engraved decoration) with ring for hanging, from which four chains and a crown-like hoop for holding the lighting-cup descend.
Dedication: "In memory of Rabbi Faraji". The dedication apparently refers to Rabbi Faraji Alush (1854-1903) "Av Beit Din" and Chief Rabbi of Djerba.
Height: 47 cm. Diameter of base: 11 cm.
