Silver plate, with inscription marking the Hebrew date of the 17th of Kislev 5708 [November 29, 1947], the day the Partition Plan was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. Israel, [1948].

A map of the future Jewish state, encircled by flowers, is engraved in the center of the plate. The cities of Haifa, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem are labeled on the map. Above the map is an unfurled Flag of Israel. Hebrew inscription: "Jewish State, 17th of Kislev 5708" [November 29, 1947].
On November 29, 1947, the General Assembly of the United Nations voted to end the British Mandate, calling for the establishment of two states in Palestine on the basis of the Partition Plan.
Diameter: approx. 15 cm. Good condition. Minor stains and bends.
