"Tantour" or "shihabeeyeen", Druze hat ornament, 18th or 19th century.

Tantour is a tall, cone shaped decoration; traditionally it was presented to brides, on their wedding day, by their husbands to be. The Tantour was in use by Druze woman up to the end of the 19th century.
The decoration on this Tantour is created by embossing and engraving and is set in a dense composition. Stylized flowers and lions comprise the decoration. The design of the top and bottom bands consists of: fish, birds and floral motifs. On the bottom part are three pinholes, one hole has a clasp (for hanging coins) connected to it.
