Silver medal - "Judenmedaille". [Prague, 17th century].
Obverse: portrait of Elizabeth of Hungary (Elizabeth of Thuringia), surrounded by the Latin legend "Elisabetha Filia Andr. Reg. Ungar. Obit. Marb. Ad. MCCXXXI" [Elizabeth, daughter of Andrew, King of Hungary…1231]. Reverse: Church of St. Elizabeth in Marburg surrounded by a legend.
This medal is one of a series of medals featuring portraits of personalities from the House of Hapsburg (one of the most important European royal houses). The medals were known as "Judenmedaille" on the assumption that they were produced by Jewish medalists in Prague. See Friedenberg, p. 94.
