A postcard printed on the occasion of the seventh annual convention of the American Zionists Federation. Cleveland (Ohio), 1904.
An undivided postcard with a drawing by Emil Ranzenhofer (1864-1930), depicting farmers, a winged woman, the Morning Star and the word "Zion" in the rising sun, with the captions "Thy light will shine like dawn…" (Hebrew) and "Cleveland, Ohio, Federation of American Zionists, Seventh Annual Convention". An identical illustration was printed on a non-official postcard printed on the occasion of the sixth Zionist Congress in Basel in 1903.
The postcard was sent from the convention to Pittsburg and is signed Benj. L. Sternberg. A short upbeat song was added by hand by the illustration (English), signed "With Zion's Greetings".
Federation of American Zionists, the first Zionist Organization in the United States, was founded in New York in 1898, by Richard Gottheil and Stephen Wise. The organization united different Zionist organizations, among them "Hoveve Zion", and convened yearly in the following years.
