The first edition was printed in three variations: Hebrew only, Spanish only, and Hebrew with Spanish. This is the Hebrew only edition. Illustrated title page; at head, image of “Rabbeinu HaKadosh” – author of the Mishnah. Leaves following title page contain lengthy inscription in Spanish for community leaders and managers of "Sha’ar HaShamayim" congregation in London.
Rabbi David Nieto (1654-1728, Otzar HaRabbanim 4926), genius in Torah and sciences. Dayan, sermonizer and physician in Livorno and afterwards first rabbi of Sephardic congregation of London. Composed the famous book" Mateh Dan – Second Kuzari" with the intent of protecting the truth of the Oral Torah and counteracting erroneous conceptions which were prevalent throughout congregations of Marranos in Western-Europe.
