Auction 17 -  Anti-Semitism, the Holocaust and She'erit Ha-Pleita

Search for Relatives and Listing of Survivors - Collection of Original Documents

Opening: $300
Unsold
Eighty-eight notes and handwritten leaves, with updates concerning the situation of Holocaust survivors. Eretz Israel and Europe, [mid 1940s onwards].
Some notes bear one name or a few names while others contain long lists of Holocaust survivors in Europe. In addition, some notes contain data concerning people eligible for Aliya certificates, information about relatives in Eretz Israel and more. For example, "Inform Israel Feingold, Buchenwald Camp, that his brother receives certificate for him." The notes were probably collected, registered and filed by a member of "Po'aley Agudat Israel" in Eretz Israel, who got them from the Agudah emissary in Europe. The lot also contains thirteen notes with ink stamps of the Jewish Agency in the British Zone at Bergen Belsen; each note has a serial number and some of them list survivors' names. Size varies, fair to good condition.
