The author's preface contains sharp criticism of the Chassidic movement. Chassidim would often tear out these leaves; in the present copy however, these leaves are present.
On the title page, signatures and stamps of R. "Eliyahu son of R. Yosef Yoske Shapira rabbi of Kórnik". R. Eliyahu Shapira (1805-1855), author of Leket Eliyahu on Sefer HaMitzvot by the Rambam. Served as rabbi of Czarnków (near Posen) for many years, and exchanged halachic correspondence with R. Akiva Eger.

Tears, including marginal open tears to title page and several other leaves, slightly affecting text on one leaf, with paper repair to title page. Leaves trimmed with damage to lower part of title page border. New leather binding.
