Reshit Limudim, scientific textbook by Baruch Lindau. Berlin: Chevrat Chinuch Ne'arim, 1788.
Reshit Limudim was the first scientific book published in Hebrew in the modern era. Its original goal was to teach sciences to children, but it in fact served as the only useful science book amongst Jews throughout the 19th century. Although the author associated with the Haskalah movement, the book was studied in Orthodox homes and by Orthodox rabbis.
