Printed "Mizrah" and "Shiviti". [Probably Germany, late 19th century].

Lithographic print of a "Mizrah", by Hirsch ben Avraham Schwaleb. Printed at the top of the leaf are verses from Psalms 113 and 145; printed at the bottom are verses from Psalms 145 and 115. At the center is a large illustration of two lions with crowns on their heads, supporting a shield above which is a Torah crown. Inside the shield is the Hebrew acronym "Mizrah - Mitzad Zeh Ruach Chaim" (East - from this direction comes the spirit of life); beneath the inscription is a ribbon with the inscription "Shiviti Hashem Lenegdi Tamid" (I have set the Lord always before me).
Length: 25.5 cm, width: 21 cm. Fair condition. Cut margins. Dark paper. Folding marks and tears. Open tear to right margins. Stains.
