De Waanzin Breekt Los [The Madness Breaks Loose], printed leaf with an illustration by Leendert Jurriaan Jordaan [Holland, first half of 1940s]. Illustration by the Dutch caricaturist Leendert Jurriaan Jordaan, of the period when Holland was occupied by the Nazis. The poster features a figure carrying signs with the writing "Voor Juden Verboden" [No entrance for Jews].
Jordaan (1885-1980), specialized in drawing caricatures of political nature and was well known for the anti-Nazi caricatures which he created during WW II. His works were published by several newspapers in Holland. 23X30 cm. Good condition. Cloth backed for display and preservation.
