The woodcut was featured on the back cover of the book "The Voice of Fire" by the American writer Emmanuel Komroff (Paris, 1927).
Polia (Polina) Chentoff (1890?-1933), painter, illustrator, sculptor and print artist, born in Vitebsk, Belarus. She acquired her artistic training at the Royal Academy of Arts in Brussels. She worked in Russia, France and Germany, in the last years of her life lived and worked in London.
Size and condition vary. Good overall condition. Stains and minor blemishes. Pencil scribbles to one engraving.
