One of the first phone books published in Israel. Issued by the Ministry of Transport (during the first years of the State, the telephone service was operated by the post office, which reported to the Ministry of Transport). The book contains thousands of phone numbers and addresses in various cities in Israel, phone numbers of governmental offices, public institutions and businesses as well as advertisements for various places of business. It opens with "rules for correct use of the phone".
243, [1] pp, 27.5 cm. Good condition. Stains. Small holes and tears to the margins of the cover and some of the leaves, most of them small (some reinforced with tape). A long tear to one of the leaves, reinforced with old tape. Stamps on the front cover and first page. Creases and blemishes to cover.
