Or Hashem, Rabbi Hasdai Crecas. Ferrara, [1555] printed by Avraham Usque. First edition.
This book is Part 2 of his book Ner Elokim; Part 1 which should have read Ner Mitzva and been somewhat a completion of Sefer HaMitzvot LaRambam, never did actualize.
Rabbi Hasdai Crescas, disciple of the Ran (Rabbi Nissim son of Reuven) and so of the Rivash (Rabbi Yitzchak Bar Sheshet), is one of the most important Jewish philosophers, that doubted the assertions of the Greek philosophy, especially Aristotle's school of thought. He was a rabbi and Jewish leader, halachic questions from all over Spain were sent to him. This work is one of the only three books of Rabbi Hasdai Crescas that survived.
A copy of especially wide margins, printed on high-quality thick paper.
[132] leaves, 23.5 cm. Missing and substituted by photocopy: Leaves 1-2, 64-65. Moth damage, stains. Some damage was professionally restored. Handwritten inscription on last page. Fancy leather binding, new.
From Dr. Israel Mehlman's private collection.
