This book is a Segulah for an easy birth, and is customarily placed under the head of a birthing mother.
The author, kabbalist R. Uri Feivel of Krisnipoli and Dubienka (d. 1804-1808), was a close disciple of R. Kehat of Werish, disciple of the Baal Shem Tov.
Ownership inscriptions on title page, including "R. Yaakov son of R. Yehonatan, brother of the Gaon of Plotzk".
[2], 1-[30], [33]-70, 73-76; 38, 43-46 leaves. Missing 8 leaves: leaves 31-32 (numbered 42-41 due to misfoliation), 71-72 from the first sequence, and 39-42 from the second sequence (all leaves with handwritten text replacement). 22.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Worming. Small open tears to title page, repaired with paper. Old, worn binding, with damage and worming.
