28 postcards and pictures – the British Army during World War I, most of the postcards depict the British occupation of Jerusalem, various publishers [1917].
* Jerusalem, album souvenir entrance of the British and allied troops in Jerusalem, [11] leaves, English and French. Album with a fine olive wood binding; an engraved image of the Dome of the Rock on the front binding and the title: Jerusalem. The album features 10 pictures from the entrance of British troops in Jerusalem; each picture is accompanied by a text on the following leaf. Pressed flowers mounted beneath the text on nine leaves. * 13 postcards with pictures of the entrance of British troops into Jerusalem. Some postcards appear in two copies, and some are found in the album. * 3 postcards with British Army official pictures. General Allenby and General Baillout in Ismailiya, the mosque in Lod and a landscape picture. * A postcard depicting Jewish soldiers at prayer. * A postcard depicting workers building a railway.
Condition varies; some damp staining, ink-stamp on front of one postcard. Good overall condition.
