Monograph on the younger years of the Futurist poet and artist Vladimir Mayakovsky, written by his friend, the poet, playwright, and artist Vasily Vasilevich Kamensky (1884-1961), who was also one of the first of Russia's aviators. This monograph was published only a year after Mayakovsky's death.
The portrait of Kamensky, appearing between pages 24 and 25, is the work of Mayakovsky.
The book's cover was designed by the autodidactic graphic artist Konstantin Bor-Ramensky (1900-1942), who was among the pioneers of Russian graphic design, and was also active in the field of interior design. Bor-Ramensky was killed in the Second World War. This lithographed cover, printed in red and black, was acclaimed for its distinct Constructivist qualities. All in one, it features Mayakovsky's portrait, the date of the Revolution, Mayakovsky's age at the time of the Revolution, titles of his publications, and a quote from one of his poems.

"Kukryniksy" (Кукрыниксы) is the group name for three painters – Mikhail Kupriyanov, Porfiri Krylov, and Nikolai Sokolov – who worked together for decades, mostly producing illustrations and caricatures for books. Their achievements earned each of them the titles "Popular Painter of the Soviet Union," "Hero of Socialist Labor," the USSR State Prize, and, in 1965, the Lenin Prize. The earliest known monograph relating to Aleksandra Aleksandrovna Ekster (1882-1949), a Ukrainian-born avant-garde and cubo-futuristic painter, and stage and costume designer. Ekster was among the most notable of Russian and Ukrainian avant-garde artists. She lived and worked in a number of cities, among them Kiev, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Vienna, and Paris, and taught and influenced a host of artists, including Boris Aronson, Yisakhar Rybak, and Yitzhak Frenkel.
Four plates featuring her works (glued to the pages, three of them in color) appear in the main part of the book, while an additional 39 black-and-white plates are presented at the end of the book. These offer glimpses of Ekster's output in a number of different fields, namely painting, and costume and stage design.
The author, art critic Yakov Alexandrovich Tugendhold (1882-1928), was also responsible for the earliest Russian-language monograph relating to Marc Chagall, in addition to a wide variety of other art-related books. Among other things, he served as an expert adviser and purchaser for art collector Sergei Shchukin's renowned collection of Impressionist works.

The children were supposed to make the puppets themselves, following the illustrations in the book (original wooden puppets could also be purchased at the artist's home in Berlin).

Reader for learning the Yiddish alphabet conforming with the system established by the Soviet authorities, which does not allow for terminal letters, and determines that words originating in Hebrew must be spelled according to modern Yiddish phonetic rules. The reader was published by "Yevsektsiya," the Jewish section of the Soviet Communist Party.
The cover and the individual letters of the alphabet were rendered by the artist Meir Ioffeh (1895-1960), who went by the pen name "Mikhael Yo." Ioffeh – a graphic artist, painter, and theoretician – was one of the most notable figures in Riga's artistic and cultural circles. He worked both for the Jewish Theater in Riga and the Jewish State Theater in Moscow.
Accompanying each letter of the alphabet is a short poem in rhyme pertaining to that letter. The reader also features Yiddish poems and short stories (including a poem by Vladimir Lenin and lyrics to the anthem of the Soviet Union), as well as a table listing the letters of the Yiddish alphabet along with their corresponding characters in the Cyrillic alphabet.

Reader for learning the Yiddish alphabet conforming with the system established by the Soviet authorities, which does not allow for terminal letters, and determines that words originating in Hebrew must be spelled according to modern Yiddish phonetic rules. The reader was published by "Yevsektsiya," the Jewish section of the Soviet Communist Party.
The cover and the individual letters of the alphabet were rendered by the artist Meir Ioffeh (1895-1960), who went by the pen name "Mikhael Yo."
