Iton Rishmi [Official Gazette]. Issue no. 1 (14.5.48) through issue no. 24 (29.9.48), bound together, with an index.
The issues contain an abundance of information as to the emergency situation in the young State of Israel. The first issue contains the text of the "Declaration about the Establishment of the State of Israel" (The Scroll of Independence) and a manifest issued by the Provisional Government.
Issue no. 1 is printed on lighter paper, as it appeared originally.
Iton Rishmi (Official Gazette) was published during the years 1948-1949; all in all, 50 issues were printed. With the start of the term of the Constituent Assembly, on February 16, 1949, the newspaper continued to appear under the title "Rashumot".
24 issues: VIII, 162 pp, (issue no. 25 is missing). Approx. 33 cm.
The issues were bound together (glued at their edges). The binding and spine are missing. Good-fair condition. Several stains, worming (especially on the lower part of the leaves). Filing holes in the right margins of all the leaves. Tears (most of them small). A large tear to one of the leaves (issue no. 22); the bottom part of the leaf is missing. Tears reinforced with tape to the general title page. Stamps.
