Manuscript – Notepad of circumciser. [Ferrara, Italy], between 1753-1783.
Apparently, this is the notepad of circumciser Rabbi Shlomo Lampronti, who notes the circumcision of the children of his younger brother, Rabbi Baruch Mordechai Lampronti, several times.
Contains 226 listings of circumcisions, along with details and numerous names of notables and scholars of Italian congregations. Including: Rabbi Shmuel Yedidya Nortzi, Rabbi Dr. Shlomo Zamorani, Rabbi Shmuel Sar Shalom Finzi and others.
The Ga’on Rabbi Shlomo Lampronti, son of the Ga’on Rabbi Yitzchak Lampronti, author of Pachad Yitzchak, among the well-known scholars of Italy. Rabbi in Ferrara who, as his father, was proficient in medicine. Taught many students, among them some of Italy’s scholars: Rabbi Yitzchak Raphael Finzi (Av Beit Din of Padua), Rabbi Shabtai Elchanan Pissarro (among rabbis of Ferrara), Rabbi Avraham Regayev (Av Beit Din of Grecia), Rabbi Chananel Nepi (Av Beit Din of Cento), Rabbi Shlomo Zamorani and others. Was among the rabbis who disagreed with the ruling of the Noda B’Yehuda regarding shaving on Chol HaMo’ed (see: Meir Benayahu, shaving on Chol HaMo’ed, Jerusalem, 1995). See attached material.
