“Fables”, Twelve Fables by Eliezer Steinberg / “Durch die brillen [Through the Spectacles], Twelve Woodcuts for Fables by Steinberg by Arthur Kolnik, published by “Yiddishe Schulfarrein", Chernivtsi, 1928. Yiddish and German.
Large folder, includes twelve fables by Steinberg printed on large thick paper sheets to which are attached twelve original woodcuts, all signed in pencil by the artist. Printed in 120 numbered copies on Japanese paper. This copy is no. 4. On the page with printing details is a dedication in the handwriting of Arthur Kolnik in honor of architect Josef Schwartzmann, who was responsible for the technical production of the folder. The etching featuring the portrait of Steinberg is framed. (on the reverse side of the frame there is a long hand-written dedication) All provided in an original folder: 58 cm. Good condition. A number of pages of the fables are loose (bound by threads).
Attached is a fable in the handwriting of Eliezer Steinberg, at the top of which there is a dedication to Josef Schwartzmann, signed by Steinberg. 43.5 cm leaf . Poor condition, many stains with damage to text (written in pencil). Framed
