Yehuda Burla – Collection of Letters

Opening: $400
Unsold
Collection of letters handwritten by the writer Yehuda Burla (1886-1969).
Most letters concern literary matters. Some letters from the 1920s are letters of recommendation for students that Burla wrote while working as a teacher in Hebrew schools in Damascus and later in Zichron Ya'akov, which were sent to Dr. Ben Zion Mossinsohn and Dr. Haim Bugrashov, headmasters of the Gymnasia Herzlia High School in Tel Aviv. In a letter from the 20s he criticises his friend Maler [probably the writer Dov Kimhi], writes about literary topics and describes his recent meetings with Bialik.
Thirteen letters, size and condition varies. Included is a 1968 article about Burla from the "HaAretz" newspaper.
