"Shanah Tovah" greeting card, designed as a booklet tied with a string; decorated with portraits of Jewish public figures, Zionist activists, rabbis and thinkers. USA: [Presumably the "Hebrew Publishing Company", or a predecessor. Early 20th century].
The cover of the greeting card is printed with "A Happy New Year" greetings in Hebrew, German and English. Inside are reproductions of famous posters, bearing portraits of central figures in Jewish life and the Jewish public sphere of the era: Baron Rothschild; the Biblical Moses, Moses Mendelsohn, Maimonides, Baron Hirsch and Moses Montefiore (all five under the heading "from Moses to Moses there was none like Moses"; Hebrew); Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Spektor; the Gaon of Vilna; prominent Jewish leaders of Britain – rabbis, community representatives and public figures; and prominent Torah scholars (after the poster printed in Breslau, 1890).
