Stamps, signatures and ownership notations by Rabbi Yechezkel Bennett of Toltshva. Personal (pencil) inscription hanswritten and signed by Rabbi “Yuda Greenwald” who received the book as a gift. Many notations in German.
Ga’on Rabbi Yechezkel Bennett (1861-1913), son of Rabbi Gershon Wolf and son of daughter of Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried author of Kitzur Shulchan Aruch. Son-in-law of Ga’on Rabbi Avraham Glick Av Beit Din of Toltshva. In 1884 was appointed Dayan in Toltshva and in 1889 served as Av Beit Din of Seini where he established a prominent Yeshiva; many rabbis of his generation were his disciples.
Ga’on Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald (1848-1920), disciple of the Ktav Sofer, and son-in-law of his brother Rabbi Yozfa Sofer. Served as Av Beit Din of Sobotište and Bonyhad. In 1898 was appointed Av Beit Din of Satmar; maintained a Yeshiva in all places where he served in rabbinate and his Yeshiva in Satmar included hundreds of students, many of which later served in positions of the rabbinate and Dayanut throughout communities of Hungary.
