The volume features essays, stories and poems on Judaism, the Jewish congregation and Eretz Israel, by some of the prominent figures of the Jewish Enlightenment period and of the Hebrew Revival period, among them: Yehiel Michal Pines, Zvi Hacohen Shershevsky, Yahalel (Yehudah Levib Levin), Avraham Eliyahu Harkavy, Shneur Zaksh, Naftali Hertz Weisel, and others. With several picture-plates: portraits of Moses Montefiore, Dr. Elazar Halevi, Lord Rothschild and others; illustrations of Eretz Israel views (Jerusalem, Jaffa, Safed); Moses Montefiore's estate; and more.
