Esther Scroll. [Russia-Poland? 19th cent.].
Miniature parchment scroll. 12 lines per column. Ashkenazic script. Vowelized throughout. Vowelization of Esther Scrolls is very uncommon since Poskim disagree as far as its Kashrut is concerned. There were Rishonim who claimed that it is invalid much the same as a vowelized Torah is invalid, while others believed that a vowelized Esther Scroll is valid. In "Shulchan Aruch" (Siman 1931) appears the ruling that vowelization does not invalidate the Scroll.
Height of parchment: 9 cm. Overall good condition. Faded letters to some sheets. Wear and spotting. Last sheet – loose. Matching cardboard case, torn.
