Michel Fingesten (1883-1943), a Czeck-Jewish painter and graphic designer, lived and worked in Berlin. After the rise of the Nazi party to power he fled to Italy, where he was imprisoned in a concentration camp. Fingesten died several days after the liberation of the camp by the British army.
All of the engravings are signed in pencil and numbered 10/50.
