A Protest Song Wannabe, two different versions, original manuscripts by Meir Ariel, [mid 1970s and first half of the 80s].
"A Protest Song Wannabe" is the sixth song of the album "…VeGaluy Einayim", Meir Ariel's second LP (1984). The content of the 9-minute long song is complex and dramatic. Due to the unique lyrics, and in spite of its length, the song became very popular amongst Meir Ariel's fans. The manuscript contains two versions of the song and some other texts:
1. Handwritten notebook, probably from the mid 70s, with the first, early version of "A Protest Song Wannabe", which became famous only a decade later. Following this song, is a leaf titled "Terminal – Corrections" with corrections to the song "Terminal Luminalet", and at the end – three leaves with handwritten drafts, of "Teoret HaTaburet". Attached is a typewritten leaf with part of "A Protest Song Wannabe", with handwritten corrections. [12] leaves, 19cm. Good condition.
2. Draft of a song handwritten by Meir Ariel, with corrections and additions. [5] leaves, 30cm. Good condition, several stains.
The manuscripts contain sentences and even complete stanzas than have been deleted and omitted from the final version, alongside minor corrections.
