"The Rabbi of Bacharach", written by Heine following the Damascus Blood Libel of 1840, with 34 lithographs by Max Liebermann. Copy number 77 out of an edition of 100 copies. The book includes two copies of each of the 17 lithographs accompanying the text; one copy out of each pair is printed on Japanese paper and signed in pencil by Liebermann. Yellow leather binding with a black medallion embossed on the front binding (with an illustration of the Tablets of the Law and a Star of David). Top edges gilt.
