Map of Latroun's Detention Camps
Opening: $500
Unsold
A hand-drawn map portraying the Latroun's Detention Camps which were active in 1940-1948. [Most probably drawn during the 1940s, maybe at the end of 1947].
A detailed map, presenting very accurately the location of the various buildings: the dwelling barracks, library, storage rooms, showers, synagogue, school, soccer field, fences and watch towers, soldiers' camp, etc. The "Escape Route" is marked on the map - apparently the tunnel through which 20 detainees, Lehi members, succeeded in escaping from the camp in 1943. The Detention Camps site in Latroun was totally destroyed during the War of Independence and only one concrete building remained. This map is an important document in understating the structure of the camps and their location. 76X74 m. Fair-good condition. Stains, some dark. Tears. Chopped borders.
