Manuscript, Tiklal siddur for the festivals. [Yemen, ca. 17th century].
Neat script. With supralinear vocalization (to part of the manuscript). The manuscript is lacking the beginning. Also lacking several leaves in the middle (completed by different writers in various periods).
The manuscript begins at the end of Tractate Avot. It contains the order for Motzaei Shabbat; prayers for Rosh Chodesh and Passover, with Passover Haggadah; prayers for Shavuot; prayers and lamentations for fast days and Tisha B'Av; prayers for the High Holidays and Sukkot; Chanukah; Purim; Selichot; Birkat HaMazon and other blessings; blessings for the wedding ceremony. Writer's colophon at end of manuscript: "Completed, praise to G-d – Blessed be He who helped me complete it".
Two leaves were added at the end of the manuscript (by a different writer), from a composition on the Hebrew calendar, mentioning the year 1686. The year 1473, also mentioned in these leaves, was mistakenly lettered on the new binding. This date, which appears in many Tiklal siddurim, was copied from the words of an anonymous author in 1473 and does not reflect the year of writing.
[99] leaves. 20 cm. Fair condition. Stains. Wear and tears. Open tears, affecting text. Several leaves lacking a large part. Paper repairs. New leather binding.
