A notebook of Torah novella on various topics and aggada, Hungary (Halych-Galanta, 1878-1846).
At the beginning of the notebook, various signatures and inscriptions in Hebrew and in a foreign language, signatures Yisrael Zvi Reich who studies by the Rabbi of Halych, inscription of buying the notebook on credit by Shmuel Ehrental and additional signatures. Included in the Torah novellae are many things in the name of "my Father, Teacher and Rabbi in Halych" and novellae that "Hashem has granted me". Apparently, it was written by two students of the Halych Yeshiva. Most of the thoughts are written by Rabbi Shmuel Ehrental, who signs at the end of Leaf 50/2 - "¦ it is correct, Shmuel Ehrental". In another place written in the margin: "This Torah was written by the young man R' Shmuel Ehrental who is soon to be married". The place where some of the Torah novellae were written appears at the top: Galanta 1883-1886.
The renowned Rabbi Eliezer Zusman author of Yalkut Eliezer (1828-1903, HaChatam Sofer V'Talmidav pages 63-65) was Rabbi of Halych at that time. He was born in Pressburg and studied by the Chatam Sofer and the Ktav Sofer, served as Rabbi and Dean of the Halych Yeshiva from 1857-1886, and in 1886, he succeeded his father in law Rabbi Yo'el Unger in the Paksch rabbinate. He wrote many books: Et Sofer, Sefer HaMikneh, Damesek Eliezer, Yalkut Eliezer, etc.
A large notebook c. 28.5 cm. Most of the leaves are empty, c. 28 written pages. Good condition, few stains and wear, detached worn cover.
