Set of Machzorim, with commentaries and Hebrew-Deitsch commentary. Yozefov, 1844.
"Printed in Yozefov in a print that was originally in Slavita, supervised by Hanina Lipa Shapira grandson of the Rabbi of Slavita". "Slavita" is printed in red bold letters.
This printing in Yozefov, is the start of reestablishing the printing press by the Rabbi of Slavita's family, instead of the Slavita printing press closed by a government order in 1836. During the short period (1842-1844) only a few books were printed in Yozefov, afterwards the printers moved to Zhitomir, where they opened their printing house that existed during the years 1847-1867.
Part I, for Rosh Ha-Shanah and Yom Kippur : [2] 164 leaves (332 pages), 25cm. Fair condition, moth-holes. New binding.
Part II: for Shalosh Regalim: 152 leaves (304 pages). 27cm. Good-fair condition, wear to corners, few moth damages. Original leather binding, worn, pasted.
The year in Hebrew letters is "1848" but this is a mistake since in digits appears the year 1844.
Rare.
