The Machzor was written in 1272, and for centuries served the audience of the Worms synagogue, until the destruction of the synagogue on the “Kristallnacht” in November 1938. The Machzor was rescued by the city's archivist, who hid it in the cathedral. In 1957 the manuscript was transferred to the Jewish National and University Library in Jerusalem. [225] leaves.
