Letter on behalf of “Central Committee for Yeshivot in Polish Lithuania”, with handwritten signature of the Ga’on Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski. Vilna, [c. 1925].
Appeal to volunteers appointed as managers of “Yeshiva Committee” throughout the various cities, “to add one Shekel per half year to the continuous collection, for the benefit of the Yeshiva committee”. Lithographic letter in scribe writing, with handwritten signature by Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski, along with stamp of “Central Yeshiva Committee of Vilna”.
The Ga’on Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski (1863-1940), giant of the generation and rabbi of the entire Diaspora. together with the Chofetz Chaim. Established the “Yeshiva Committee” and headed it, through which he initiated a fund for the rescue of the Yeshivot from their difficult state following World War I.
29.5 cm. leaf. Fair condition. Tears on margins, restored with glue on cardboard paper. Faded writing (signature and stamp in good condition).
