Collection of letters and documents from the righteous Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Lehrin (1784-1855), founder and chief of the Pkidey V’Amarkaley Arey Ha’Kodesh Association, which dealt with the collection of donations for the Holy Land in all of the congregations of Holland and Deutschland (Western and Central European congregations) and the transferring of them to their destination, for the benefit of the Holy Land settlement. Important documents in the history of the settlement of Israel during the early 19th century.
1. Copies of recommendations for young man traveling from Holland to Eretz Yisrael. Recommendations by: Rabbi Yosef Asher Lemil Av Beit Din of Hague, Rabbi Elyahu Zvi Hirsch Av Beit Din of Rotterdam and Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Lehrin of Amsterdam. 1825-1826.
2. Draft of a long letter to the Holy City of Jerusalem, directed to the guardians of the orphans of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Shapiro (Rabbi Refael Nissim Aryeh, Rabbi Aryeh son of Rabbi Yerachmiel and Rabbi Avraham Shlomo Zalman). 1829. The other side of the page contains lengthy lists of contributions from Holland and Deutschland to the Eretz Yisrael treasury fund.
3. Draft of recommendations directed to Rabbi Reuven son of Rabbi Zvi Ha’Levi, emissary of the Ashkenazi Hassidic Kollels from the Holy City of Safed as well as various listings. [1829?].
4. Passage of a letter concerning the matter of sending the funds to Eretz Yisrael.
5. Letter by Rabbi Akiva Lehrin and Rabbi Ya'akov Ross to Jerusalem directed to Rabbi Yosef Rivlin and the sons of the deceased righteous Rabbi Leib Goldschmidt. Amsterdam, 1862.
