Letter from the administration of the Sanz yeshiva in Netanya, with a letter in the margins (7 handwritten lines) signed by Rebbe Yekutiel Yehudah Halberstam. Kiryat Sanz, Netanya, Adar II 1965.


Addressed to R. Yosef Eliyahu Henkin in the United States, director of Ezrat Torah. The letter of the administration is typewritten, while the Rebbe's letter is written in [scribal?] handwriting, with the Rebbe's signature. In his letter, the Rebbe requests financial assistance for students and yeshiva deans for Pesach expenses. The Rebbe blesses him with long life in his holy work, and to see the redemption, closing with his signature.


Rebbe Yekutiel Yehudah Halberstam of Sanz-Klausenburg (1904-1994) was a leading rebbe who built up the Torah and Chassidic world in the fifty years following the Holocaust. He established the large Sanz communities in the United States, Jerusalem and Netanya, including yeshivas and Torah and charitable institutions.
