Letter from Gaon Rabbi Aharon Shlomo Wertheimer of Jerusalem, to Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Halevi Bamberger Av Beit-Din Kissingen [1892].
Rabbi Shlomo Aharon Wertheimer (1866-1935), the first to research the Cairo Genizah, an outstanding genius amongst the sages of Jerusalem. He lived in poverty but in spite of that did not hesitate to spend his money on obtaining and printing manuscripts. He printed dozens of articles and books from the Cairo Genizah and Genizot from Jerusalem, Midrashim and Sifrei Rishonim. To accomplish his lifetime endeavor he had to raise funds from the wealthy members of the community. This letter concerns a request to raise funds for publishing books.
